Slot Review: Scary Rich II

We played the original incarnation of Scary Rich way back in the day – maybe two years ago? – and were not all that scared by it, not impressed either. There are just so many Halloween-esque slots out there, and so many that fail to cut the mustard in terms of our exacting standards for online games. Did we mention that we are fans of horror movies, and never miss the newest slasher flicks to hit the cinema? With that said, this sequel to the original Scary Rich is a real treat. The icons on the reels are actually menacing creatures that people would be VERY afraid of in real life (no Crayola-colored pumpkins and smiling bats here!), and the gameplay is fierce. Add in a substantial little jackpot that pays out pretty often, and you just might have a contender for our favorite slot game ever!

It sports five reels and twenty paylines of poker machine action, meaning that there is plenty going on to keep you entertained. Coin values start at just one penny, and range up to one dollar. The graphics of this game are simply beyond belief. They include animations that are creepy and grotesque, like a freaky doll dancing along with the ringing of thunder, the sounds of pouring rain, and church bells pealing in the background. There are also spooky and amazing sound effects to compliment the strong theming. The characters on the reels are the real stars of the show, however. You’ll notice a leering crown with razor-sharp, dripping yellow teeth, a ferocious zombie with his curled hands extended towards you in an expression that can only be described as horror-inducing, a vampire maiden who is as scary as she is beautiful with red blood smeared all around her mouth, a nasty rat, and the gnarled expression of a freaky creature that we couldn’t quite categorize according to the traditional canon of all the horror movies we’ve seen (which is a lot!). There is also a misshapen corpse and the most sinister-looking black cat ever.

The coffin is the wild symbol for this exceptional online slot machine game. It can substitute for any other icon on the reels in a winning combination, much in the way that it substitutes for a bed for vampires! Two of these symbols completing a combo will win you a triple multiplier on the normal payout, three will trigger a six times payout, and four will win you a multiplier of no less than thirteen times the original win amount! The coffin is also the jackpot symbol. Line up five of these on an active payline to win the big prize. The werewolf who howls at the moon is the scatter symbol for this game.
