There is no doubt that Forrest Gump is one of the best-beloved Hollywood films of all time. It is the beautiful story of the eponymous sweet and gentle man played by famous actor Tom Hanks, who won an Oscar for his efforts. The movie concerns Forrest, who tells his life story to several strangers as he sits at a bus stop in Savannah, Georgia. Forrest has met many famous people, made millions of dollars, run across the country several times, and become a war hero, but the most notable thing in his eventful life has been his great love for the beautiful and ill-fated Jenny, played as an adult by Robin Wright Penn. The film follows Forrest from his awkward childhood in the deep South, raised by a single mother who was fiercely protective of her unintelligent and handicapped son, to his enlistment and injury in the Vietnam War and friendship with the inimitable Bubba, to his adult triumphs as a ping pong prodigy and inspiration for the ubiquitous smiley face t-shirt.
