Slot Review: Alaskan Fishing
They say that
the fishing in Alaska is some of the finest to be had anywhere. The
image is quintessential: guys in warm coats slinging their poles
into rushing rivers, as spotted salmon jump with scales shining in
the frigid sunshine. Unless you just so happen to live up in that
corner of the U.S., going fishing in Alaska can be a pretty
expensive proposition. You won’t really make enough money to fund an
entire trip playing the Alaskan Fishing online slot machine game by
Microgaming, but you will undoubtedly enjoy the novelty of playing a
game replete with no paylines, and hundreds of ways to win!
Alaskan Fishing is another successor to Microgaming’s experiment
with the novel, no-paylines style of pokey play that started with
Burning Love last year. Alaskan Fishing’s winnings are not based on
horizontal and diagonal paylines, and instead offer two hundred and
forty-three winning combinations that take place at different areas
of the screen. You can bet between one cent and five cents with max
coins of three hundred on this game, which keeps the stakes
relatively low. The jackpot is a piddling five hundred coins
(twenty-five dollars max), but this game tends to award “jackpots”
left and right. The high number of winning combinations makes
virtually every spin a winner with this slot game, justifying the
ludicrous jackpot-to-wager ratio to some extent at least.
The images on the reels are very appropriate to the theming of this
slot game. You’ll see the smiling fisherman, the tackle box with
plenty of gear, the great brown bear, the angler’s trophy, and many
other images. The title logo is the jackpot symbol, which is
definitely the one to look for. Happy “Fishing!"
