Slot Review: Board Babe
The imminent
advent of winter can mean only one thing – and no, the answer is
neither “Christmas” or “snow,” although both are technically true.
The colder weather means that it’s time for winter sports, pastimes
that are extremely popular with many people. One of the best-loved
winter sports is snowboarding. None of us here have really tried it,
since we’re all clumsy lugs who sit around playing online slots all
day. (Hey, they say that self-deprecation is a virtue. We’ve got it
in spades!) Whether you like to board yourself, or simply enjoy
being a spectator of this daring pastime, we bet that you will enjoy
“Board Babes.” This game has a lot of the things that make a lot of
slot players happy, in our somewhat experienced opinion. This game
has both cute girls and animals, bright colors, and big money to be
won. That makes it pretty much a hit as far as we are concerned.
Board Babe comes to us from PartyGaming. It has five reels and nine
paylines. Coin values start at one cent and range upwards incredibly
to fifty dollars. Sure, you can play this game as a penny slot, but
to do so is to miss out on the vast jackpot that you can win with a
little (okay, a LOT of) daring. Playing one coin per payline at the
maximum value, you can bet a whopping four hundred fifty dollars per
spin. The jackpot is an equally-impressive twenty-five hundred
coins, or twelve thousand five hundred dollars on a maxed-out bet.
Now you know that’s an impressive start to a snowboarding vacation!
But it gets even better. With the various multipliers and bonuses in
this game, your top prize is amplified exponentially, up to an
incredible one million, one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars.
Wow!
A great winter theme is the big attraction to this internet pokey,
if you discount the cash. The backdrop to the reels is a vista of
rolling white hills – the perfect kind on which to snowboard (or so
we are told). The symbols are the title logo, the St. Bernard dog
toting hot cocoa, the snowflake, the log cabin, the snowman, the ski
goggles, and assorted poker symbols in the form of letters and
numbers. The doggy is the symbol to look for in this game – he’s not
only the wild logo (meaning that he can substitute for any other
image on the reels in a winning combination), but he’s also the
jackpot symbol. The board babe herself is a multiplier symbol. She
will complete a trick across the screen to the sounds of rockin’
guitar music if she comes into play. The snowflake is the scatter
symbol, which is appropriate. Get two or more of these, and be
awarded with a random prize of between one time and two hundred
times your triggering bet.
If you get the vivacious and pretty Board Babe anywhere on reels one
and five at the same time you will be taken to an awesome
second-screen bonus game in which you are challenged to complete a
downhill obstacle course from the babe’s point of view. For every
obstacle that doesn’t make you wipe out, you’ll win a prize. You can
dodge up to nine obstacles for the biggest prize, but the game ends
if you hit anything.
